The diagram is a general framework for asking questions. It does not describe a verified EXAM payment, custody or distribution process. Actual recipients, accounts, custodians, contracts and payment schedules are unconfirmed here and must be checked for each arrangement.

1. Identify the right you receive

Ownership of a physical asset, a fund unit, a share, a token and a contractual claim can create very different rights. Name the legal counterparty, governing documents and how ownership or entitlement is recorded before looking at a projected return.

2. Identify who receives and holds the money

The company you contact, the contracting entity, the bank-account holder and a custodian need not be the same party. Ask what each does, whether assets are segregated, what evidence is available and what happens if a counterparty fails. Do not infer these safeguards from a website or diagram.

3. Account for costs, losses and exit

Returns depend on the arrangement and can be negative. Separate asset value changes, income, fees, taxes and currency movements. Selling an asset, redeeming a fund and receiving a contractual payment follow different conditions; a distribution is not automatically a profit or proof that capital is protected.
